Metra to Showcase Marine and Powersports Product Lines at the 2017 Ft. Lauderdale International Boat
Holly Hill, FL - October 2017 – Metra Electronics’ marine division is set to appear at this year’s Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show, November 1st to November 5th at booth #4191 inside the Sailfish Pavilion at the Broward County Convention Center. This will be Metra’s first appearance at the show to promote Metra Marine and Metra PowerSports, their new lines of aftermarket marine and powersports accessories for lighting, audio system upgrades and more. Metra Electronics will be showcasing marine grade products from their 12 volt brands, Heise LED Lighting Systems®, Metra PowerSports, Shuriken High Performance Batteries®, T-Spec® and The Install Bay®.
New Marine Lighting Accessories
Metra’s technology and expertise in the aftermarket 12 volt market has expanded to now include marine applications. Products include a wide range of marine grade lighting by Metra’s Heise LED Lighting Systems®, including light bars, cube lights, a variety of mounts, RGB strip lighting and RGB accent lighting. Heise’s marine light bars are available in dual or single row options, with new 30 inch, 42 inch, 50 inch and 54 inch curved dual row light bars launching at the show. New marine high output cube lights are also being released, featuring OSRAM LEDs with a powerful flood beam and customizable colored accent caps. New Heise RGB accent light kits allow you to change and control light colors with the swipe of a finger. These rugged, marine grade RGB pods use the Heise RGB App (available for Android and iOS mobile devices), to create custom made color options, select preset flash patterns, control the lights to flash to music, or turn the lights on and off at selected times. They are offered individually or in starter kits that include the control box and either 4 or 8 RGB pods. Additional accessories include accent light covers to help diffuse the brightness of the lights, angled rubber mounting bases, a pigtail adapter that can hook into any 4-wire positive anode RGB controller, a 10 foot extension cable and the control box. This system is easily expandable! Up to 8 lights will work with a single control box, and up to 8 control boxes can be synced into the Heise RGB App, for a total of 64 light pods.
Marine Audio, Power and Installation Accessories
New Metra PowerSports 6.5” Can Speakers with RGB Lights will debut at the show. These rugged speakers are designed for whatever the marine or off-road customer can throw at it. The UV protected, high temperature ABS provides a durable housing by employing a dual wall design. The waterproof speakers are IPX6 rated to handle water, dust and all the elements, while still delivering great sound performance. They are constructed from polypropylene and the tweeters are PEI (Polyetherimide). A passive 3” radiator offers a more robust sound by making these speakers more bass responsive. As an added feature, the speakers include RGB lighting that can be connected to Heise and Metra PowerSports RGB Controllers (MPS-RGBC-4).
Metra PowerSports is also introducing two new micro-amplifiers that are designed for harsh environments. With an IPX6 rating, these compact amplifiers are designed to get wet and not miss a beat. There are two models; a 4-channel (MPS-AMP60X4) that outputs 60 watts per channel and a 2-channel (MPS-AMP100X2) that outputs 100 watts per channel. Both amplifiers are bridgeable to provide more flexibility and designed to fit into smaller applications.
Additional products include pre-wired marine radio housing and radio covers in various colors and styles, an amplified glass mount antenna and side/top mount rubber antenna, TV mounts, Bluetooth® audio receivers, fuses, and circuit breakers. Metra’s T-Spec line, known in the car audio industry as the high-end, competition rated brand for serious mobile audio systems, will also be on display. T-Spec’s marine grade amp kit includes 1/O, 4g, or 8g AWG options that use full virgin copper construction and meet or exceed CEA and ANSI specifications. T-Spec power wire spools are BC-5W2 marine compliant and available from 25 to 250 feet, in various colors. RCA audio cables in 2 or 4 channel options, video cables and other installation accessories are also available from Metra Marine. To power these audio systems, Metra’s popular line of Shuriken High Performance Batteries® include marine grade options that utilize absorbed glass mat (AGM) technology, allowing better depth of discharge and result in a longer battery life. The AGM technology batteries come in 12v at 55 and 100 amp hours, with standard and threaded posts.
Metra Marine will be exhibiting at the convention center, booth #4191 in the Sailfish Pavilion, and will also debut new powersports products for audio system upgrades. The Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show is a 58 year tradition and one of the largest boat trade shows in Florida, located in the “Yachting Capital of the World”. Exhibits range from yacht builders and designers to exotic cars and brokerage yachts.
